IAWA wins top honors for costsharecompare.com

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (IAWA) – The Iowa Agriculture Water Alliance proudly received recognition for its website to help farmers demystify the many cover crop cost share options available to them.

The website, costsharecompare.com, allows Iowa farmers to filter cover crop payment programs by important factors like contract length, rates, and funding source. They can then compare details in one place. It was released in spring 2024.

The creative forces who produced the award winning work include Rebekah Jones (Communications Director), Caitlin Barnes (Graphic Designer), and Ben Fjare (Web Developer).  Jones was in Minneapolis to accept the award on Thurs., Jan. 16, 2025.

“At IAWA, we know the value of our cost share tool. It’s icing on the cake to have a nationally recognized marketing association recognize the value, too,” Jones said. “NAMA sets the gold standard for agricultural marketing, and we are proud to have met the mark!”

Costsharecompare.com is a first-of-its-kind website. There are a few comparable sites out there that are doing incredible work, but none that are specific to just Iowa. The site is also focused on functionality, conciseness, journalistic approach to breaking down marketing jargon, and colorful and compelling display of information.

These regional honors position IAWA as a contender at the National Best of NAMA Awards, which will take place in April 2025. Competing on a national stage reflects IAWA’s commitment to excellence in agricultural marketing and dedication to water quality.

IAWA’s founding member and ongoing partner, Iowa Corn, also won an award for its website.
